What to expect

It is a review, not a pitch. Here is exactly what happens.

Two ways in. Both end with a conversation, a written summary, and nothing owed.

The tax efficiency reviewSix questions · Two business days · Thirty minutes

Where the money sits, what it costs, what would change it.

You answer five questions: what the company does, how much sits in it, what is true about it, where it is, and how to reach you. Under a minute, no documents. We run the answers against the current rules and reach out within two business days.

The call is thirty minutes. You leave with a one-page summary you can hand to your accountant: your passive income position, what the current structure costs each year, and whether corporate-owned whole life or an IFA fits, with what each would do.

  • What you need

A rough sense of the balance and where it is held. Statements are useful for the call, not required to start.

  • Who calls

One of us. Licensed across Canada. Not a call centre, not a script.

  • What it costs

Nothing. The summary is yours whether or not anything goes further.

  • What it is not

Nobody quotes a product on the call. If something fits, that is a second conversation, with your accountant if you want them in it. If the retained earnings are under $250,000, we will say it is early and tell you what to do in the meantime.

The corporate protection sessionFive questions · One business day · Thirty minutes

The five holes, mapped to your corporation.

You answer five things: how many people the business cannot run without, the kind of business, how long it has been running, the province, and when to call. We call within one business day to set a time.

The session walks the five holes in most owner-run corporations, the seat, the Friday, the guarantee, the accounts, the partner, against yours. You leave with a written summary of which are open and what would close them, with real coverage amounts and what they cost.

  • What you need

Nothing. Rough payroll, debt and who the key people are come up in conversation.

  • Health questions

Not on the call. If you go ahead, underwriting happens once, at the start, and most owners qualify.

  • Your key people

Coverage on another person needs their consent. Most take it as the compliment it is. That step comes later, not now.

  • What it costs

Nothing. The summary is yours either way.

Who you are dealing with

Who we are.

Garrison is a small group of licensed advisors, licensed across Canada, built for owners who run real businesses. We publish the rules plainly, look at your numbers, and tell you straight whether something fits. If it doesn't, we say so and you keep the summary. Nothing is illustrated until we know what the money is for, when you want to stop, and who takes over.

Your details only stay with us. No list, no resale, no drip campaign. If you say no after the call, that is the end of it.

Every summary is built to be handed to your accountant. Most have seen these structures before, and many recommend them.
